Ivory Coast (#873)

Description:
The prairie landscape opens up dramiticallyto the west of Blackwood.
A wagon trail leads off to the west and over a rise approximately 1/2 mile
away. Off to the northwest and southwest you see small tarpaper shacks of
homesteaders. On the north side of the road is a sign that reads Western
Outpost 1 mile and points towards the west. Towards the east is Blackwood.
Straight east are the cattle pens and you can hear the sounds of cattle
being worked in the pens. Towards the northeast is the slaughterhouse
district which is were the foul odor in the air is originating from. Still
farther to the northeast is the Wagon train Staging area. The road leading
towards the east takes you into the cattle pens.
